Artificial intelligence is now accessible to everyone, and every salesperson should use it to increase sales and easily develop new markets. In this article, we’ll give you a practical example that any salesperson or sales manager can achieve with the free tools at their disposal.
Chatbots for all salespeople
The main conversational robots available :
- ChatGPT from OpenAI: probably the best for general use at present
- Google’s Gemini: generally better than ChatGPT in commerce
- Mistral IA : the French robot. Why take American when you have something European?
- DeepSeek : the Chinese chatbot very close to ChatGPT
- Microsoft Copilot is mainly limited to Microsoft applications.
- Grok: the tool of X and Elon Musk.
My advice is to use the same question on several tools to find the best answer.
Then dig into your question about which robot seems best for your subject, and validate by searching for reliable sources on a search engine. Don’t forget that robots are just a compilation of the results they find on the web, good or bad. The most reliable use of artificial intelligence is to process the information you give them.
Study the market
There’s nothing easier than asking a question about a new market you don’t know, or a market you think you do. But the quality of the answer you get will depend on the quality of your question. You also need to determine all the information you want to obtain.
Let’s take the example of a company that supplies products for breweries:
- What’s the beer market like in the Paris region?
- How has it grown in recent years?
- What is the expected growth?
- What are the local regulations governing the beer market in France?
- What are the advantages and disadvantages of this market?
Study the competition
AI can help you here too, and save you months of research.
- Who supplies brewery products in France and Paris?
- Who supplies hops in France?
- What are the advantages and disadvantages of each of these suppliers?
Please note that the answers will not be complete, so it’s best to use several chatbots and then supplement with phone calls.
Find customers and prospects
You can then ask who your potential customers are
- What breweries are there in Paris and the Ile-de-France region?
- How big are they?
- What are their specialities and characteristics?
- What are their coordinates? You’ll even find them on a map, but you’ll have to search for the addresses individually.
Analyze your customers
To analyze your customers, you’ll take Word or Excel files with your data, upload them to AI and ask it :
- How do you summarize this information?
- What are your interpretations and trends?
The same applies to customer service requests and complaints, which can be analyzed in batches to provide a summary in a matter of seconds.
Sometimes I’ve received bad photos of foreign-language reports with manual corrections. After highlighting the lines to save them, I had them translated by ChatGPT and then asked for a summary. I got in a few seconds what would have taken me several days.
It even enabled me to understand a complex judgment made abroad. The AI processed a huge amount of information in a few seconds and gave me an intelligible answer to a document I didn’t understand, even when translated.
Write your sales pitches
It’s undoubtedly in this area that AI is most effective, and it could even be said that the majority of ads you see on TV or on the networks today have been created in part or in full by AI and certain special tools used by advertisers.
To get back to you and the use of the products available, simply follow the steps below:
- List the advantages of your products
- Give a description of your target customer(s)
- Upload information to chatbot
- Ask him to provide you with a well-structured, well-written sales pitch for the customer concerned, outlining the benefits they could derive from your product. If you’re not satisfied, ask him to rewrite it. If you ask him to write you a letter, he’ll probably suggest several versions. Try out several tools and see which one suits you best for the subject in question. Some robots are better suited to certain fields than others.
Analyze your results
There are several ways to proceed, depending on the format in which you have your results.
- Number of customer contacts
- Average sales per customer
- The most successful customers
- The most profitable customers
In conclusion
The salespeople I meet are not yet using AI and are content to use the CRM that their company imposes on them. My advice? Learn to use intelligence before your competitors do, but also learn to master what you find through a sales course. It’s up to you to master the machine, not the other way around!
